Tariqh Akoni plays 4th of July show with Kenny Loggins

As always, had an amazing time playing with Kenny and the great Rick Cowling for CNN's 4th of July Celebration. I grew up listening to Kenny and I feel super fortunate to call him a friend.

Livestream Concert During Quarantine

I feel so fortunate to continue to work during this crazy time. This was a livestream/performance with my good buddy Josh Groban and my brother Mark Stephens. We were VERY careful and made sure to wear masks and stay 6 - 8 feet apart during the show.

During this quarantine I've been hard at work in my studio. There are typically guitars and amplifiers EVERYWHERE, but today is ALL ABOUT THE BANJO...... I LOVE IT......

Josh Groban Livestreams

This years has been absolutely crazy, but we have had some wonderful moments performing for the fans. At this point, we've done Four (4) Livestreams for Josh Groban including The first inaugural, the Broadway show, The Harmony Show and we just completed the 'Noel' Christmas Show. As we head into the New Year, I look forward to sharing more performances and video with all of you. Look for a little message coming soon and the launch of some Video and audio content. So very excited for this New Year and hoping everyone is happy and healthy out there.

I'm already off to the races writing Music for Media and trying to find time to start a video series (stay tuned). In addition, I'm mentoring a student for the USC Popular Music Department and .... (drum roll please) I have some VERY exciting news that I'll hopefully be able to announce in the very near future.

In the meantime, stay healthy and stay positive and I promise I'll have some stuff for all of you guys VERY soon 

Producer/Composer/Educator/Guitarist Receives Music Award

Had an incredible time performing at EastWest (one of my favorite studios) the other day. Can't wait to share some of the upcoming projects I'm currently involved in. I'm hoping to share some of my music and approach to the guitar and am in talks for a video series with a late 2023 release.

Producer/Composer/Educator/Guitarist Joins New Music Collaboration

Hello there family... so sorry for the long delays between posts. So much going on over here and I always forget to come back to the website but I'm TRYING to get better. 

​

Recently, I've been doing a ton of recording sessions and live performance here in LA. I'm just starting on a new project (with a projected release of Fall/Winter 2023/24)... stay tuned for that.

My goal is to get better at checking in and actually using this site for a clearing house of information. Hope you all are well and look forward to catching up soon
